Phew! 'South Park' Renewed for Two More Seasons

Phew! 'South Park' Renewed for Two More Seasons For a while there, it was looking like we might not see much more of "South Park." One of this season's episodes, "You're Getting Old," seemed to indicate that co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone were sick and tired of doing the show, as the episode focused on cynicism and growing tired of the same routine. When you add in the fact that the two just had a huge amount of success with their Broadway musical "The Book of Mormon," it was looking like "South Park" might be behind them.

But in an interview with Jon Stewart on "The Daily Show," Parker and Stone reassured us that they weren't planning on going anywhere. "We still love 'South Park,'" said Parker. "That's still our thing."

There was still a question of whether or not the show would be renewed, though...but any fears there have just been put to rest. As EW reports, "South Park" has been renewed for two more seasons with Parker and Stone signed on. That means the show will still be on the air, with Parker and Stone attached, through 2013.

So, at least for now, you can hold those cries of "Oh my God, they killed 'South Park!' You bastards!"
